The Apps for Good App Launch, powered by Facebook and hosted by Thomson Reuters, will take place in just 9 days on 5 February. To ensure you know everything about the seven apps being launched, our series of countdown blogs is continuing today with a look at CryptoConnex.
The CryptoConnex app is an exciting game that makes code breaking fun. CryptoConnex was created by Harriet, Paula, Holly and Frederick, students from Hymers College in Yorkshire. The app won the Learning category powered by Samsung at the Apps for Good Awards 2014.
The team members behind the CryptoConnex app had an interest in cryptology – the process of creating secure communications. This interest was the key idea behind their app, as the team recently commented, ‘We wanted to bring cryptography into the mainstream app market, and so we created CryptoConnex!’. Check out the video below where the team discuss their idea in more detail and also tell us about their favourite parts of the Apps for Good course.
Since their win in June the team have been putting in a lot of hours – all while attending their classes – to develop their prototype app into a finished product ready to be launched on the market. Throughout this process they have been supported by Samsung and development agency Fuerte International.
All this hard work and effort has paid off and the CryptoConnex app will be officially launched on 05 February.
