BBC ‘Make it Digital’ to shine light on digital world in 2015

Today marked the launch of BBC’s Make it Digital season – a major UK-wide initiative to inspire a new generation to get creative with digital technology – and we at Apps for Good are very proud to partner this great initiative.

Anyone who was on Twitter this morning will have no doubt seen the non-stop stream of tweets around the announcement that saw #BBCMakeitDigital trending across the UK, showing that we’re not the only ones excited about the efforts to inspire young people to become digital creators.

A season of Make it Digital tv, radio and online content seeks to place a spotlight on digital skills like never before through an ambitious range of new programmes, partnerships and projects. As Tony Hall put it, “This is exactly what the BBC is all about – bringing the industry together on an unprecedented scale and making a difference to millions”. The initiative will also guide young people, parents, educators and more to useful resources and tools to help them learn more about the digital world – including Apps for Good! We at Apps for Good are delighted to partner with such an exciting programme that reflects our own goals to grow a generation of entrepreneurs and digital-makers and can’t wait to see what the BBC Make it Digital season will bring.
